v1.0.1

2026-06-06

Two-day-after-launch hotfix.

Fixed

  • macOS launch failure on supported versions. The v1.0 build's bundled binaries were stamped with the build machine's macOS as their internal minimum, so macOS refused to launch the app on any other version — even on fully supported ones, showing Apple's "You can't use this version of the application with this version of macOS" dialog. The build now normalises every bundled binary to the supported minimum, so the app launches correctly on every supported macOS.
  • macOS minimum stated accurately. The site previously said "macOS 12.3+", but the bundled Qt 6.11 frameworks themselves require macOS 15 — that earlier claim was never attainable. System requirements now correctly state macOS 15+ on Apple Silicon (M1 or newer). Region capture still uses ScreenCaptureKit (which has its own 12.3 floor), but the app-wide 15+ covers it.

v1.0

2026-06-04

The first public release. Everything the closed beta has been running on, polished and ready.

Capture & import

  • Drag and drop image, video, or GIF onto today's column.
  • Quick fullscreen screenshot from the system tray.
  • Region capture — drag a rectangle on screen, save it as image, video, or GIF, with configurable resolution, FPS, codec, and duration.
  • Clean macOS recording — region video on macOS uses Apple's ScreenCaptureKit: one "Allow" the first time, then no System Settings toggle and no weekly re-prompt. Cursor, clicks, and trackpad gestures work normally inside the capture rectangle.
  • Multi-monitor capture with a numbered picker.
  • Watch folder per project — drop files in (iCloud, Dropbox, anywhere) and they auto-import with the right date and tags.
  • Bulk folder import with EXIF / filename / file-date detection and subfolder auto-tagging.

Kanban calendar

  • Day-column calendar scrolling left-to-right through time, smooth zoom from compact to large.
  • Go-to-today button, hover-for-preview, hide-empty-days toggle, sticky day headers.
  • Right-click a card for Show in Folder, Copy to Clipboard, or Copy Path.
  • Delete asks first; a single Ctrl-Z restores entries with their tags. Deleted media moves to an entries/deleted/ folder — recoverable, never auto-purged.
  • Optimised for projects with thousands of entries.

Entries, notes, tags

  • Built-in tag set + unlimited custom tags, colour-coded chips. Tags double as filters — both for narrowing the calendar view and for choosing which entries land in any export.
  • Notes on any entry, with or without media; standalone notes for journal-only days.
  • Undo / redo up to 50 actions deep.
  • Multi-select with Ctrl-click and Shift-click for batch tag editing.

Momentum & milestones

  • Current streak, best streak, total active days, surfaced at the top of the window.
  • Configurable daily reminder.
  • Milestones with target dates — countdowns and overdue indicators on the calendar so deadlines stay visible.

Fullscreen viewers

  • Media viewer with arrow-key navigation across the project.
  • Frame-by-frame video controls and adjustable playback speed.
  • Mosaic viewer for 2–4 videos side-by-side with synchronised playback.

Grow Share — Smart Export Engine

  • Timelapse video with hold duration, transitions, date overlays.
  • Grid image — a date range composited into a single shareable still.
  • Mosaic — 2–4 videos in a grid, horizontal, or vertical layout, exported as a new entry.
  • Montage editor — drag-drop timeline, per-clip timing, transition overrides, text cards (Title / Divider / Credits).
  • Transitions — Cut, Crossfade, or Slide (left / right / up / down), set globally or per clip.
  • Multi-format batch — Square, Portrait, Landscape, Vertical, all in one pass.
  • Time-scope (Week / Month / Year / Full Project / Custom) and tag filter on every export — your tags are what shape the story.
  • GIF export with two-pass palette.
  • Crop-to-fill or letterbox; codec, FPS, bitrate, MP4 / MKV controls.
  • Background rendering with cancellable progress.

Multi-project & backup

  • Multiple projects with their own calendars, tags, and accent colours.
  • Export / import a project as a portable .growframe archive.
  • Weekly auto-backups with configurable retention; pre-migration backups; manual snapshots.
  • Database integrity check on startup; crash-recovery warning when reopening.

Settings, hotkeys, translations

  • Every keyboard shortcut rebindable.
  • System-wide capture hotkeys — bind fullscreen, region-image, or region-video capture to a global combo and trigger it from any app. Unbound by default; assign in Settings → Shortcuts.
  • Configurable card zoom, hover-preview scale, daily reminder time, capture defaults.
  • Browse and change the data directory.
  • English and Spanish UI, auto-detected from system locale and switchable in Settings. Structure ready for more locales — fluent collaborators welcome.

More work in the studio; more updates on the way.
